A special exhibition titled "The Pioneers: Masters of Edo Painting" is taking place until November 8th at Osaka's Abeno Harukas Art Museum. The event looks at the works of 35 painters from across Japan whose individuality and unique expression was seen as daring at the time.
The works on display include pieces from the likes of Ito Jakuchu, Nagasawa Rosetsu, and Soga Shohaku, through to Ogata Korin, Maruyama Okyo, and Katsushika Hokusai.
Adult admission to the event is 1400 yen, and do note that the museum is closed on October 12th and 26th during the exhibition dates if you're planning a special trip.
