Located within the Umeda Sky Building, the Kuchu Teien Observatory offers panoramic views over Osaka City. For the Christmas season this year, the venue is hosting an event called White Forest in the Sky, where visitors can enjoy a large number of illuminated trees in addition to the already spectacular scenery.
There will also be a special Christmas-only menu at Café SKY 40, and the ability to purchase admission tickets that come with a limited edition "love lock" souvenir. Regular adult admission to the observatory is ¥1500, but if you'd like one of the love locks as well the fee is ¥2600 and bookings must be arranged online.
Getting there
The Kuchu Teien Observatory can be accessed in around 10 minutes on foot from either JR Osaka Station, Osaka Umeda Station, or Umeda Station.
For those who opt to drive, parking for up to 460 vehicles is available at the venue. At the time of writing, parking is priced at 500 yen for the first hour, and 250 yen for every 30 minutes thereafter.
