Makaino had a little lamb, little lamb, little lamb. Its fleece was white as snow. (Photo: Tyra 'nell Pille)

A Day at Makaino Farm in Fujinomiya

The Farm on Asagiri Plateau at the foot of Mt. Fuji

"We want Makaino Farm to remain a place where the importance of agriculture and gentle touch can be felt -- where people and nature can come together, whatever the trend of the times is." Indeed, true to the farm management's primary objective, my friend and I enjoyed the company of farm animals like mountain goats, cows, horses, different kinds of birds and  hamsters, among others. Despite the snow covered place, we were able to pet and feed the rabbits and the sheep inside their cages and stables. It was an unforgettable experience at the foot of Mt. Fuji.
