Now running for over a decade, the Inatori Hosono Kogen Pampas Grass Festival celebrates this beautiful autumn plant with a variety of fun activities. The event includes guided nature walks, a stamp rally where those who visit five checkpoints receive a commemorative gift, and music performances by various bands. Food vans will be available for those who want to grab a bite to eat or drink.
There will also be a photo competition, with submissions accepted up until late February. Monetary prizes will be awarded to the winners, and more information on how to submit entries can be found on the official competition website here (in Japanese).
Adult admission to the event is ¥ 500 (counted as anyone above junior high school age). Children who are elementary school aged and below receive free admission.
Getting there
Inatori Hosono Kogen is located around 10 minutes by taxi from Izu-Inatori Station, which is served by the Izu Kyūkō Line.
