The scenic Itokawa Promenade in the center of Atami City is famous for its early-blooming Atamizakura, which color the area with dark pink flowers from early January each year. An annual festival has been running for over a decade now to celebrate the photogenic blossoms, with after-dark illuminations, cherry blossom tea services (available on weekends and holidays only), and various street performances taking place during the event dates.

Getting there
Atami's Itokawa Promenade is located around 15 minutes on foot from either Atami Station or Kinomiya Station. If you search for あたみ桜 糸川桜まつり in Google Maps, the specific location of the festival will come up.
