Kusanagi-jinja

An atmospheric forest shrine in Shizuoka city

About twenty minutes' walk from the twin stations serving Kusanagi in the suburbs of Shizuoka city, Kusanagi-jinja is a historic, atmospheric forest shrine. The setting is peaceful, and the old wooden buildings are well preserved, while some of the states and lanterns are showing their age more. There's also what appears to be a giant firework, if I understood the picture correctly, which is launched dramatically at an annual festival.
