Tokyo with Kids: KidZania

Experience a range of jobs in a kid-friendly format

As kids, we all likely dreamed about what we'd be when we grew up, and at KidZania Tokyo, little ones can step into those dreams for real. This unique attraction in the capital is a miniature city where children are the main characters, learning how society works while having fun.

Inside, there are about 100 different jobs and services to try, with the entire list available to browse online. Kids get to don uniforms, use authentic tools, and work in real-world-inspired businesses, with roles from firefighters and airline pilots to bakers, nurses, and shop clerks available to experience. Each activity pays them in KidZania's own currency (called "Kidzos"), which they can spend on shopping or services within the city. It's a hands-on way to teach both responsibility and creativity, but all wrapped up in play.

Families traveling to Tokyo will find KidZania a refreshing break from sightseeing. Children not only get to role-play but also take home what they make, such as pizzas, ice cream, crafts, or even DVDs recording their achievements. For international visitors, KidZania also offers English Language Wednesdays where around half of the available activities are hosted in English. Of course, a good amount of the programs are simply learning by watching, so even without Japanese language capability it is relatively easy to follow along.

Located in Toyosu, KidZania is easy to access by train, and the surrounding area has plenty for families to enjoy, including the Lalaport Toyosu shopping mall, waterfront parks, and casual dining. Please note that reservations are recommended since spots fill quickly, and memberships are available for repeat visitors.

Getting there

KidZania Tokyo is located just 8 minutes on foot from Toyosu Station, which is served by the Tokyo Metro Yurakucho Line and the Yurikamome Line.
