Venue : Tottori Prefectural Museum When : Feb 11th - Mar 21st 2021, 9:00am - 5:00pm

A special exhibition taking place at the Tottori Prefectural Museum will examine the works of Japanese artist Taro Okamoto (1911 - 1996), with a specific focus on his friendship with avant-garde artists cultivated in pre-war Paris and how this impacted art movements in post-war Japan.

As well as examining Okamoto's time in Paris and how his relationships forged there impacted the Japanese art world, the event will also celebrate the 110th anniversary of his birth.

Adult admission to the event is priced at 800 yen, and no advance bookings are required.

Getting there

The Tottori Prefectural Museum is located around 10 minutes by taxi from Tottori Station, which is served by the Sanin Main Line.

Alternatively, for a more cost-effective method of transport, take the 100 yen Kururi Bus (green line) from Tottori Station. Departures take place approximately every 20 minutes, and there is a dedicated stop for the museum (stop number 11).
