The Mizuki Shigeru museum is at the end of the road with the same name which incidentally starts right at Sakaiminato station. The road is peppered with small statues of the many characters from the famous manga "GeGeGe Kitaro".

The whole area is an homage to the artist who live in Tottori and created the "yokai" type of characters for Japanese comics. At the end of the road is a museum dedicated to this famous artist and inside you can see more examples of the characters, as well as a history of his life and even some of his personal belongings.

His life was quite interesting and I won't spoil it for you here but he traveled abroad quite a lot to get information from which to craft his stories and characters. This is a must for fans of manga or "yokai" characters and there are many stores selling merchandise along the road, and the characters are incredibly fun and creative.
