Discovering the Capital City of Yamanashi Prefecture

As we moved from one park and temple to another, we happened to pass buy this interesting "castle-peak," as I personally called it.

This stood so enchanting on the Kofu Station grounds beside the Maizuro Bridge.

Ascending the Maizuro Bridge towards the other side where the Kofu City History Park Yamanote-Gomon lies. Beside the bridge stood the Yamako Shopping Center.

We passed by this small and peaceful temple as we ventured from our hotel in the semi-suburb part of the city to the station.

A closer looked at the "castle-peak." After taking this photo, I so wanted to shout, "Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your golden hair!" Just in case, you know!

On my bike, I shouted proudly, "I am a biker!" Good thing, nobody's around to witness my moment of insanity.

I haven't seen this kind of shopping center around my apartment in Shizuoka City, so, I found this interesting.

The city is also famous for fruit growing, like strawberries and grapes.

THANKS to the service bicycles of the hotel we stayed at, we were able to go around Kofu, the capital city of Yamanashi Prefecture. The intense heat of the 2013 summer didn’t hinder us from discovering the city’s buzzing streets around the station, as well as the peaceful roads in the semi-suburb areas of the city.

Kofu City is not only developed as a commercial hub, but also as a posting station and a castle town. Hence, we saw several shopping centers, castles and parks, among others, as we went around the city in our bicycles.
