Fuji-Q Highland Ice Skating

Skate under open skies and the magnificent Mount Fuji

Eriko Fukui   - 1 min read

Fuji-Q Highland is an amusement park in Fujiyoshida. Nestled in Yamanashi prefecture, this park makes the most of its magical views of Mount Fuji. I didn't realize I was standing in front of it when I first arrived as it is much bigger than I thought.

From the start of Winter until the first Sunday of April you can skate in the open air all day long. You can rent ice skating shoes at a cost of Y1000.

Fuji-Q Highland is also known for its scary rides. There are more than 10 kinds of rides in this amusement park to get your heart racing. Some of these rides include Takabisha - a brand new roller coaster with "the steepest drop in the world at 121°"; Eejanaika - the roller coaster with the most number of spins in the world, and Fujiyama - the over-the-top king of roller-coasters.
