Yamanashi’s Mount Takagawa

Fine views from above

Popular with many locals and Tokyoites alike, Mount Takagawa in eastern Yamanashi Prefecture provides an easy but great escape from the ever crowded metropolis. Conveniently situated along the JR Chuo line in Otsuki City, I was fortunate enough to hike this interesting mountain on a relatively clear day.

Whilst it may not always be possible to see nearby Mount Fuji, the other impressive views of the surrounding peaks which form the southern foot of the Yatsuga-take Mountain range are well worth making the effort for!
