Sweet potatoes are a very popular seasonal food during Japan's autumn months, and they are served up in a variety of ways. The Aichi Sweet Potato Expo is a four-day event that celebrates the humble root vegetable, with around 20 booths selling a myriad of tasty treats featuring it.
This is a ticketed event, with admission priced at 500 JPY for advance tickets or 600 JPY on the day. More information on advance tickets can be found on the Lawson website here. Please note that food and drink purchases are charged separately.
Getting there
The event takes place on the rooftop of the Mitsukoshi Nagoya Sakae store, which can be accessed in just a minute on foot from Sakae Station (served by the Meijō Line and Higashiyama Line).
For those who opt to drive, there are several lots in the surrounding area – more information on the available options can be found here.
