Japan Airlines will launch a new direct flight from Melbourne, Australia to Tokyo Narita Airport from September 2, 2017.

JL 774 will depart Melbourne just after midnight, arriving in Tokyo at 9:05 am and JL773 departing Tokyo in the morning (10:30am), with a same day arrival into Melbourne in the evening at 9:55 pm. JAL passengers flying from Australia now have 2 options, with a daily morning flight from Sydney or a daily midnight flight from Melbourne. Japan Airlines is offering a promotional economy class return fare from Melbourne from just AUD $699.

All flights from Australia will be upgraded to the new Boeing 787 Dreamliner, with the “Sky Wider” economy class seats being the widest in its class. Most airlines use a 3-3-3 configuration, however Japan Airlines has chosen to have one less seat per row, with a 2-4-2 configuration. Premium Economy seats are also on sale for a limited time at AUD$1599, while Business Class sale fares are available at AUD$ 3599.
