Beautiful summer display in Chiba

Fireworks festivals in Japan can be traced back to 1732, and summer just couldn't be complete without stretching out on a riverbank with some food, drinks, and friends to watch the beautiful colors exploding in the night sky. The Edogawa Fireworks Festival, in early August, is held above the Edogawa River. This festival showcases some serious pyrotechnics. For a prime spot, it's mandatory to get there early. People begin putting tarps down on Friday evening. But it's true what they say - the best things in life really are free.
