There is a lot to see at historical Kakyo Park in Echizen City, Fukui, but you surely shouldn't miss Sangetsu-Ro and Izumo Taisha. Sangetsu-Ro was once the annex of the famous traditional Japanese restaurant in the area. Its fame derives from the fact that the restaurant was frequented by Noguchi Ujo, a Japanese poet and lyricist of children's songs, who was once a music teacher in Echizen city around 1927. Later, this annex was rebuilt inside the park. Izumo Taisha is one of the small shrines belonging to Okafuto Shrine in the park. As you can well imagine from its name, this small shrine is related to the famous Izumo Taisha in Shimane Prefecture. Under the colorful maple trees these two buildings enhance the traditional Japanese atmosphere which fills the entire park.
