If you're traveling through Fukuoka, and particularly if you're around the Hakata Station area, there are plenty of options for a great bite to eat. If a hearty burger and an ice cold beer are what your taste buds are craving, Goodbeer Stand has you covered.

The restaurant opened back in April of 2016 inside the Kitte Hakata building which houses a range of different eateries and retail stores. There are 25 different craft beers on tap at any time and on my visit there were brews from all corners of the globe, including California, Oregon, and Estonia to name a few. Prefer to keep things local? There were loads of Japanese beer varieties available, one of which was a white ale from the highly regarded Hitachino Nest Brewery.

When it comes to the eats on offer the burgers are a popular choice. There are many hearty options and they're all easy to customize to your liking. You'll find tasty menu items like bacon and egg burgers, avocado burgers, fish burgers, and even jalapeno and salsa burgers if you're seeking a little spice. Want items like bacon, egg, or avocado on burgers that don't usually come with those ingredients? It's simple enough to request them as add-ons. There are various ways to make your burger into a set meal, including sets that come with fries and a drink, salad and a drink, or all three. You can also opt for a soup on the side with your burger if you don't want to go too heavy. The burgers are large so play it by ear!

If you're trying to save a few yen check out their happy hour specials if you want to sample some of the beers on offer. Major credit cards including Visa and MasterCard are accepted.

Getting there

Goodbeer Stand is located inside the Kitte Hakata Building, which is connected to Hakata Station itself.
