A special exhibition taking place at the Fukushima Prefectural Museum of Art centers around Doraemon, the iconic manga and anime series character created by Fujiko F. Fujio back in 1970. The event involves the work of 28 creative minds who were asked to come up with their own artworks incorporating Doraemon, including the likes of Takashi Murakami, Shishi Yamazaki, and Suito Nakatsuka to name just a few.

Admission to the event is priced at 1400 yen, and no advance reservations are required.

Getting there

The Fukushima Prefectural Museum of Art is located 2 minutes on foot from Bijutsukan-Toshokan-Mae Station on the Iizaka Line. Buses are also available to the museum from the JR Fukushima Station -- take the City Loop #2 bus until the Kenritsu-Bijutsukan-iriguchi stop, and the museum is three minutes away on foot.

For those who opt to drive, the venue is around 15 minutes drive from the Tohoku Expressway's Fukushima-Iizaka Interchange, or around 20 minutes drive from the Tohoku Expressway's Fukushima-Nishi Interchange.
