I stayed at Shin-Hirayu Hotsprings on October 10 in 2010 to enjoy autumn leaves along Mount Shin-Hotaka Ropeway. However, the weather was not good and I had to give up climbing the mountain. Deep in the mountains of Okuhida, when it's pouring there is nothing to do and nowhere else to go.

But no good comes from crying over bad weather, does it? So, I decided to relax in a soothing outdoor onsen bath at my hotel. After a relaxing bath, a feast of Hida was waiting for me! The dinner consisted of original dishes contrived and cooked by the hotel owner, and they were delicious! Although I couldn't climb the mountain, I enjoyed a blissful time at the hotel in Okuhida!
