A special exhibition taking place at the Gifu Museum of Modern Ceramic Art looks at humans and animals as depicted by 5 ceramic artists: Beth Cavener (USA), Susan Halls (UK), Yoshitomo Nara (Japan), Stephanie Quale (UK), and Kim Simonsson (Finland). There will be approximately 100 works on display which uniquely explore the daily realities of living beings.

Adult admission to the event is priced at 900 yen, and no advance reservations are required.

Getting there

The Gifu Museum of Modern Ceramic Art is located around 30 minutes drive from the Tajimi IC of the Chuo National Expressway. Free on-site parking is available for over 300 vehicles.

For those who are visiting via public transport, the closes station is JR Tajimi Station (served by the Chūō Main Line and the Taita Line). On Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays there is a community bus that runs between the station and the museum, the travel time is about 25 minutes and the fare is 200 yen. Outside those times, take the Toutetsu bus (either the Tsumagi Line or the Mizunami - Dachi - Tajimi Line), and get off at the Cerapark・Gendai Tougei Bijutsukan Guchi Stop. The museum is around 10 minutes on foot from there.
