For four days this December, the digital art collective Naked is hosting an event at Gunma's Ikaho Onsen to bring light and color to the winter evenings. Naked Night Walk is part of the broader Ikaho Art A Live 2021 event, and it will see unique motifs projected on the onsen's stone steps – they're a landmark and symbol of Ikaho with over 400 years of history.
Visitors will also be able to walk around the area with NAKED Distance Lanterns ®, which are designed to promote social distancing in a fun way.
Admission to the event is free of charge.
Getting there
To reach Ikaho Onsen by public transport, head to Shibukawa Station which is served by the Joetsu Line and the Agatsuma Line. From there, buses are available to the onsen area – one option is the Kanetsu Kotsu Local Bus, which has a dedicated stop for Ikaho Onsen. The travel time is around 30 minutes.
