Pork consumption in Japan has a long history and is deeply embedded in its culinary culture. Popular pork dishes such as tonkatsu (breaded and deep-fried pork cutlet) and buta no shogayaki (ginger-flavored stir-fried pork) are beloved by locals and tourists alike, and you'll also often see pork used in hot pot dishes, ramen, and other traditional Japanese meals.

The TonTon Expo at Hotel Metropolitan Takasaki celebrates this long history, with a specific focus on Gunma-based pork products. For ¥6,500 (or the early bird price of ¥6,000 for reservations made by May 15), event attendees can enjoy all-you-can-eat local pork served up in around 20 Japanese, Western, and Chinese-inspired dishes. The price listed above also includes all-you-can-drink soft drink. Reservations can be made via the hotel's website here.
