I visited sacred Miyajima Island in late November, and the weather was gorgeous. One of the island's main attractions is Itsukushima Shrine which, like the famous torii gate, seems to be floating in the water during high tide. Since I was there for a few days, I was able to be at the shrine during low tide, as well, and found it to be equally beautiful. I got there early in the morning before it got too crowded, and while the air was still crisp and fresh.
