Every year in the northernmost region of Japan a snow festival is held in Sapporo, Hokkaido. This event features several blocks' worth of giant ice and snow sculptures. At this festival you can not only view the majestic works of art on display, but you can enjoy a variety of Hokkaido food and buy lots of souvenirs. If you don't feel up to shopping, why not check out the ski display or the ice skating rink? If you want a warmer view of the festivities, you can head up into the Sapporo TV Tower located at the head of the festivities.
