If you're looking for a place to get into the Halloween spirit in Hokkaido, the Niseko Halloween event has you covered. The festivities take place outside JR Niseko Station several weeks before Halloween itself, and attendees can enjoy trick-or-treating, a costume competition, and even appearances from the mascot of the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters professional baseball team.
The outside of the station building will also be piled high with pumpkins, making for a fun backdrop for some autumnal-themed photos.
If you work up an appetite on your visit, never fear – there will be a variety of food trucks selling all manner of delicious goodies, with a focus on local specialties.
There is no admission fee to enjoy the atmosphere of the event, but bring yen if you plan on making food or drink purchases.
Getting there
The event takes place around the JR Niseko Station area, which is served by the Hakodate Main Line.
