Food is a source of nourishment, of connection, and even artistic inspiration in many cases, and a special exhibition taking place at the Hokkaido Museum of Modern Art focuses on this. "Visual Gastronomy" runs until November 8th 2020, and introduces a variety of artworks which have food as the central theme.
Whilst numerous works focus on the food itself, there are also pieces that depict the communal gatherings that mealtimes present, the items that foods are prepared and served on, and the processes that go into gathering food.
Adult admission to the event is priced at 510 yen.
