<p>I've climbed to a great height, and am standing on a girder of the bridge!</p>

<p>Standing 300 meters above the sea, what a wonderful view!</p>

<p>View of Akashi on the mainland. The wind is soft, and it feels so good.</p>

<p>This is the hatch! The group which came before us are now going back. You can only stay here for twenty minutes.</p>

<p>View of Shikoku and Awaji Islands. The weather was perfect for seeing this scenery.</p>

<p>This is the observation area for tourists. It's 300 meters above the sea, and we are standing on a girder on top of the main tower.</p>

<p>47 meters above the sea, the floor of this passage is made of glass, so it's thrilling to walk on it.</p>

<p>The tour ended on our return to the Maiko Marine Promenade.</p>

My dream came true! I finally climbed to the top of Great Akashi Strait Bridge! The view from 300 meters above the sea was just wonderful. The weather was fine with a clear blue sky and blue ocean! I was impressed by the views of ships coming and going, and vehicles and people about the size of a pea on the ground.

Although I could stay there only for a short while, the marvelous view was even better than I'd imagined, and I enjoyed those precious moments in the soft breeze high up in the sky.

Reservations are required to join this tour. It's held twice a day on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from April 1st to November 30th. A reservation can be made either on the Internet or by FAX.
