Mount Fuji and Hakone Day Tour

Mount Fuji, Mount Komagatake and Lake Ashi

On our recent visit back to Tokyo, one of the items on top of our list was to take a tour of Mount Fuji. We attempted to see Mount Fuji on our own a few years ago but were unsuccessful. Mount Fuji is one of those sights where a guided tour is a must in order to view it from the best spots and to experience a tour to it's maximum potential. Our tour left Tokyo by bus, taking us directly to stage 5 of Mount Fuji. This is half way up, at an elevation of about 2305 meters high. We then made our way back down and found a great viewing point in Gotemba-Shi. Next we went on a cruise over Lake Ashi and wrapped things up by going to the summit of Mount Komagatake by cable car. This was an absolutely fantastic tour and I highly recommend this experience to other people. There are several tours available, including some right here on Japan Travel. Mount Fuji is breath taking and while the pictures serve as great memories, nothing replaces experiencing it for yourself
