On Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from September 24th until October 24th, Kumamoto's Aso Volcano Museum will be the site of a fun event in collaboration with the digital art collective NAKED. The NAKED Aso Night Museum will contain a variety of indoor and outdoor activities that manage to combine art and learning at the same time.
Inside the museum, visitors will find projections that make use of volcanic graphics, interactive art with flowers and butterflies designed to help visitors learn about Aso's nature, and various productions at the theater.
Outside, lantern-guided night walks allow visitors to appreciate Aso's nature under the starry night skies for themselves.
Admission to the event is priced at 2200 yen for adults (counted as anyone high-school age or above), and 1100 yen for children.
Getting there
The Aso Volcano Museum is located around 20 minutes by car from Aso Station, which is served by the Hōhi Main Line.
On-site parking is available for up to 200 vehicles at a cost of 500 yen per car.
