Long revered as a hub of culture in Japan, Kyoto has had a connection to the arts for centuries. This connection is celebrated at the Kyoto City Kyocera Museum with a special exhibition titled "250 Years of Fine Arts in Kyoto".
The exhibition covers three specific stages of art history in this part of Japan. The stages are:
- From Edo to Meiji: A leap to modern times
- From Meiji to Showa: The rise of Kyoto painters
- From Postwar to the Present: Challenges of the Future
The works on display include paintings, sculptures, folding screens, furniture, and more. Adult admission to the exhibition is 1600 yen.
