Every year in autumn, Kyoto's Yume Cosmos Park comes alive with a wide variety of early, mid, and late blooming cosmos types. The floral fun starts in early September and runs right through until late November, giving visitors plenty of time to enjoy their beauty. In total, there are around 8 million cosmos flowers planted, covering a space of approximately 4.2 hectares.
The park is incredibly family-friendly, and that extends to the canine family members, too. There is a dog run on the grounds, so bring your furry friend along for a pleasant day out!
Getting there
Yume Cosmos Park can be accessed quite easily from Kyoto Station. Take the Sagano Line rapid train for about 20 minutes and get off at Kameoka Station. From there, take the Keihan Kyoto Kotsu Bus numbered 34, 40, or 59 for about 10 minutes until you reach the stop for the Kameoka Sports Park complex. The cosmos park is just a short walk away from there.
