Latest on Enkoji

Kyoto is known for its fantastic fall foliage but some sights far outstrip others in their beauty. One destination deserving of any visitor's attention is Enkoji, a temple founded by the first Tokugawa shogun. Located in northeastern Kyoto against the city's eastern mountains, the entire inner courtyard becomes a blaze of maples in the month of November. The best view is from the temple's veranda, a shot seen on many local tourism posters.
