During the cherry blossom season in spring, the street of Gion Shirakawa is lit up for flower viewing after the sunset. Pale pink petals rising in twilight blue, willows' green leaves trembling in the wind, and yellow lights streaming out from riverside restaurants make a unique atmosphere and provide a glamorous beauty amongst the cherry trees. It’s really magical. Information about the illumination each year will be shown on their Japanese website in March.
