Penguins, jellyfish, mantas and many other creatures

Kyoto Aquarium was built on the edge of Umekoji Park near Kyoto Station. The beautifully designed facility boasts a fascinating collection of water creatures. Dolphins, seals and penguins are popular with visitors, but my personal favorites were the jellyfish and octopuses. They also have a collection of river dwellers which includes giant salamanders.
