Kamameshi is a traditional Japanese meal where the dish is cooked in an iron pot (the 'kama'). There are different toppings available. This particular restaurant specialises in the Kamameshi meal and is a popular eating place in Nara. They are packed during the lunch hour, so if you do not want to wait for long, go for a late lunch or during the early dinner period to avoid the crowds.
