Aollumination is a seasonal illumination event that takes place at Aore Nagaoka during the winter months, beginning in mid-November and wrapping up in mid-February. The event transforms the city hall complex and surrounding areas into a dazzling display of lights and music, making it an enjoyable spot to visit for locals and travelers alike.

Sparkling lights and a sustainability focus

One of the highlights of the event is the giant eco-friendly Christmas tree, which is on display in the central Nakadoma plaza until December 25th. This unique tree features ornaments crafted from recycled materials alongside champagne gold lights, creating a perfect blend of sustainability and classic style.

Music and illuminations in harmony

From 4pm until 8pm each day, visitors can also enjoy a synchronized light-and-music show. During the lead-up to Christmas the music will have a festive focus, but post-Christmas this will transition to a guest-selected song chosen via survey before the event. During official B3 League Niigata Albirex BB home games the music performance will pause, but the lights will still glow in the team's signature orange.
