Okinawa's Ie Village is packed with natural beauty year-round, but it really shines during spring when the island's lilies are in bloom. An annual festival celebrating the flowers takes place at Ie Village Lily Field Park from late April to early May each year, and the event includes around 100 lily varieties. The Easter lilies are most prominent, but there are numerous other types from around the world.
Along with the vast array of floral beauty to enjoy, the event also includes stage performances and booths selling food, drinks, and other local products.
There is no admission fee to enjoy the flowers, but do bring yen if you plan on making any purchases from the vendors.
Getting there
Ie Village Lily Field Park is located around 12 minutes driving time from the Ie Port area – in typical years, a free shuttle service operates from the port to the venue. If you're self-driving, on-site parking is available for approximately 130 vehicles.
