At Expo 2025 Osaka-Kansai, visitors can explore a space dedicated to innovation, inclusion, and sustainability through the Women's Pavilion in collaboration with Cartier. Presented with support from the Japanese government, this striking pavilion celebrates the transformative power of women around the world.

Running from April 13th to October 13th, 2025, the pavilion showcases women’s role in shaping a more sustainable and equitable future. The exhibit highlights stories of female leaders, artists, and activists, and invites guests to reflect on their own journey toward positive change.
Designed by architect Yuko Nagayama, the two-story pavilion blends tradition and modernity. Its intricate façade draws inspiration from kumiko, a Japanese woodworking technique, while the interior hosts an immersive experience created by artist Es Devlin and filmmaker Naomi Kawase. Visitors follow a thoughtfully curated path, encountering personal stories, interactive exhibits, and moments for quiet reflection.

Highlights include the "THREE WOMEN" exhibit, featuring voices like Japanese novelist Banana Yoshimoto and Sudanese activist Emtithal Mahmoud, and the “WA Space,” an upstairs venue hosting more than 150 talks and events. Themes range from technology and education to arts, culture, and social identity.

Sustainability is another key focus. Locally sourced trees will be replanted after the Expo, and the pavilion’s construction reflects a deep respect for the environment. Located next to the Japan Pavilion near the East Gate, the Women’s Pavilion is a powerful stop for anyone interested in global perspectives, cultural exchange, and social progress.
