<p>The entrance of Nakanoshima Library has transformed into a Noh stage! This library is located on the south side of Osaka City Office.</p>

<p>Adorable characters welcome you in front of the heart-shaped illuminated ornament called 'Illumination Jewelry'</p>

<p>It may seem like a strange place to see one of Japan's traditional performing arts, but actually it somehow feels right!</p>

<p>A water bus gliding through the small space between the water and the Nishiki Bridge over Tosabori River...how thrilling!</p>

Osaka Hikari-Renaissance is an annual illumination event held in Nakanoshima, Osaka. This year, the event will be held from December 14th to 25th. The theme of the event changes annually.

In this photo story, I'd like to introduce the impressive illuminations I saw in 2012. Especially, the illuminated entrance wall of the neo-baroque Nakanoshima Library and the open space in front of it, which was transformed into a Noh stage for the occasion, were absolutely spectacular.
