Mikaeri Waterfall
Mandy BartokHike along riverbanks of blooming hydrangea to see the Mikaeri Waterfall in Saga's rural Ouchi town
Mikaeri Falls represent Karatsu City in Kyushu. Walk through the golden nightshade of Ozaki autumn leaves, crosses the retrospective suspension bridge, and walk about 10 meters. Enjoy the waterfall observatory, from which you can see the waterfall. The falls are over 100 meters high and appear to be spun from crystal. Visit in summer for the hydrangeas blooming along the pathway or in autumn for the crisp and vibrant colors of the leaves.
A 20-minute walk from Ochi Station.

Don't miss the gardens between the parking lot and waterfall, even on a rainy day. Many of the flowers are along the riverbank, and there are shops and restaurants worth visiting.
