Tara in Saga Prefecture is surrounded by the Ariake Sea and the Taradake mountain range, making it a beautiful destination for fans of the great outdoors. It's also a great spot to enjoy sakura season, and if you're looking for a place to appreciate the best of spring's blooms, look no further than the Takezaki Castle Ruins Observatory Park.
The first ever Takezaki Castle Ruins sakura festival will be held this year, with the beautiful blue of the Ariake Sea and the pale pink of the cherry blossoms creating a stunning contrast. Along with the incredible natural surroundings, the event will include tasty local foods like crab soup available for purchase.
Getting there
The Takezaki Castle Ruins Observatory Park is located around 10 minutes by taxi from Hizen-Oura Station, which is served by the JR Nagasaki Main Line.
For those who opt to drive, there is free on-site parking for approximately 30 vehicles – but do bear in mind that these are likely to fill up fast on the festival date.
