Dining at Shuzenji's Marukyu Ryokan

<p>What is it?  A tasty appetizer made of mushrooms.</p>

<p>Everything is beautifully prepared and presented.</p>

<p>The tempura melted in our mouths.</p>

<p>Rice, miso soup, and pickles were served toward the end.</p>

<p>In the morning, we took a walk along the river.</p>

The Marukyu Ryokan is located in the onsen town of Shuzenji, at the center of the Izu Peninsula. Guests staying overnight enjoy delicious traditional Japanese meals served by a friendly staff. The selection of items is ever-changing depending on what is fresh and in season. Meals are served in tatami rooms on regular tables with chairs. It is a lovely place to experience the culture of a Japanese ryokan.
