Japan's first Starbucks store—and the first outside North America—opened in Ginza back in August of 1996. It seems fitting, then, that the 2000th store will also open in this part of Tokyo this month. The Starbucks Teavana Store Ginza Marronnier Street is scheduled to open on February 17th, 2025, and it's set to highlight both Japanese tea culture and Starbucks' unique approach to crafting beverages.

One of the store's standout features is its focus on Japanese matcha, with a special "GINZA Stone-ground Matcha Tea Latte" and "GINZA Stone-ground Matcha Frappuccino®" made with Uji matcha. Additionally, a special "GINZA Stone Mill Matcha Mousse Tea & Strawberry" dessert drink will be available in limited quantities each day, featuring a matcha mousse alongside strawberry sauce, fresh cream, and white chocolate syrup.

The store also offers a range of brewed TEAVANA™ teas, prepared individually for each customer. Flavors like Peach Tranquility, Pineapple Kona Pop, and Strawberry Mint Oolong are just a few of the options that are available to choose from, and you can opt to have them hot or iced.

Part of the new store's appeal also lies in its aesthetic. There is an actual stone mill in the store, where guests can see matcha being ground directly in front of them, adding a unique sensory experience to a visit here. The interior feels warm and inviting, with various materials, textures, and colors used in the design.

The store will operate from 7am until 10pm daily, and has a capacity of 75 seats.

Getting there

The Starbucks Teavana Store Ginza Marronnier Street is located at the Ginza Omi Building, just two minutes on foot from Ginza-Itchome Station (Tokyo Metro Yurakucho Line), or four minutes on foot from Higashi-Ginza Station (Toei Asakusa Line, Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line).
