Arakawa Nature Park

A peaceful park in the heart of Tokyo

If you ever need to find some peace in metropolitan Tokyo, you could consider visiting Arakawa Nature Park (Mikawashima Park) in Arakawa ward.

This park contains a pond which can be viewed form several footbridges. No need to be bored, since the main tenant is a beautiful white swan, accompanied by a huge family of carp. The rest of the park varies with exciting paths and symmetrical architecture, and enough places to rest and enjoy your view.

This makes the park a place where citizens of Arakawa can come to relax or bring their kids on a Sunday afternoon. Since the park is kid-friendly, containing a playground, a vending machine and several toilets, there is enough to explore for young and old.

  • Opening hours:
    • April-October from 06:00 to 19:00,
    • November-March from 07:00 to 17:00.
  • No admission ticket required.

Getting there

It's a short walk south-east from Machiya Station (Keisei Main Line), or take the tram to Arakawa-nichome, in front of the park entrance.
