From mid-November until Christmas Day, Machida's Grandberry Park will be hosting a fun seasonal event titled "Christmas Sweet Melody". The event is Snoopy-themed and will include various illuminations, including a sparkling 8-meter high Christmas tree surrounded by Peanuts characters that also plays music.
Along with the festive illuminations on display, many stores at Grandberry Park will be offering seasonal food menus. Some of the options include panettone (a sweet Italian bread typically consumed around Christmas and New Year), Christmas popcorn flavored with white chocolate, pistachios, and dried cranberries, and Japanese Christmas cakes.
In the last week leading up to Christmas (December 18th until December 25th), there will be special Christmas-only special prices at over 110 stores, so if you need to do a bit of last minute shopping be sure to stop by.
Grandberry Park is directly connected to Minami Machida Granberry Park Station, which is served by the Tokyu Denen-toshi Line.
For those who opt to drive, there is on-site parking available for approximately 2000 vehicles, and it's charged at a rate of 250 yen per 30 minute increment.
