“So you have an idea. A stupid Idea, but you like it,” said architect Frank Gehry in a video loop at the 21_21 Design Sight in Tokyo Midtown in Roppongi.

If you're into exploring how designs transform from their most basic scribbles to models to the real thing, then the “I Have An Idea” Frank Gehry exhibition is for you. Gehry is a Canadian-born architecture whose unconventional techniques have led to buildings all over the world. The common point: the buildings' designs are full of movement.

According to 21_21’s website, “Frank Gehry has spent over half a century upending architectural norms and defying expectations. His works span from the stunning Guggenheim Museum Bilbao to attention-getting Fondation Louis Vuitton, which opened last year."

The exhibition runs until Feb. 7, so head to 21_21 Design Sight to discover the designs of this outspoken architecture. Closed Tuesdays, the exhibit is open daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. General admission is ¥1,100.
