There is a pretty red Kannon Hall inside the Japanese Garden of Grand Prince Hotel New Takanawa. This hall even has an entrance gate as though it's an individual temple. Visitors pass through the gate to pay homage at this hall daily. It was moved from Chokyuji Temple in Nara in 1954 and inside, there is the statue of the Eleven-faced Goddess of Mercy as the principal Buddhist image. When I visited here, there was a girl who was also visiting the hall. She prayed fervently in front of it for a long time, then sat on the outside veranda to reflect. Maybe this is a good place to be alone and ponder in the midst of the busy metropolis Tokyo.
