Kakigori is a traditional Japanese shaved ice dessert which comes topped with various ingredients and flavored syrups, creating a delicious and refreshing treat. The Odaiba Shaved Ice Festival brings an early taste of this summer favorite to Tokyo during the Golden Week holiday period, with plenty of tasty options to enjoy.
It's not just Japanese-style kakigori that will be on offer, either. Shaved ice desserts like Korean bingsu and Filipino halo-halo will also be available to purchase, giving the event a more international feel. For anyone who enjoys Instagrammable eats, this festival is one you shouldn't miss.
There is no admission fee to enjoy the atmosphere of the event, but bring yen if you plan on doing some shaved ice sampling! Also, keep in mind that because the festival is to be held outdoors, it may be canceled in the case of inclement weather.
Getting there
The event takes place at DiverCity Tokyo Plaza, which can be accessed in 5 minutes on foot from Daiba Station (Yurikamome Line).
