One evening at the beginning of December my friend and I headed for Tokyo Midtown to see the Christmas illuminations there. Walking along chilly streets with trees were festooned with lights, we arrived at a park were thousands of blue LEDs had been laid on the ground to create a sea of light called the Starlight Garden. 280,000 digitally controlled LEDs have been set up to deliver a light show lasting about five minutes, complete with music. It was beautiful, inspiring and romantic!
