Machida's Yakushiike Park is an incredibly scenic spot at any time of the year you plan to visit – so much so that the park has been named as a designated place of scenic beauty of Tokyo. To celebrate the beautiful fall color around the park grounds, an autumn festival will be held throughout the month of November.
Along with the daytime beauty to enjoy, from November 13th (Saturday) until November 28th (Sunday) there will be evening illuminations from 5 pm until 8 pm, allowing guests to appreciate the stunning foliage after dark.
Admission to the park is free of charge.
Getting there
Machida's Yakushiike Park can be accessed via bus from Machida Station's North Exit. Take the bus bound for Tsurukawa via Honmachida or Notsuda Garage via Honmachida and get off at either the "Yakushiike" or "Yakushigaoka" stop.
For those who opt to drive, there are several parking lots available on-site.
